MOSSBERG 500 question
 
Have one that I've had for years and loved it...never had any problems . So I bought another one , a sp 50420 .Anyway to make a long story short .I tried to load it and could only load 2 shells at a time.WTF ? It's supposed to hold at least 6 shells .I broke it down ,checked the tube and theres a friggen wooden dowel with 2 O rings on it in there . My question is this :Is this some sort of shipping /packaging to hold the pump in place ? Whats it's function ?

It's called a plug and makes the gun legal for hunting, depending on local laws. If your local laws are okay with it remove the plug.
